SOC Follow-Up Report – System-wide Pack Condition
DURATION OF EVENT
A system-wide Strained Operating Condition (“SOC”) for a Pack condition was declared by EPNG as follows:
Effective: Gas Days February 26, 2026 and February 27, 2026
Imbalance Threshold: 5%
AFFECTED AREA(S)/LOCATION(S)
All shippers system-wide were subject to the requirements of the SOC declaration.
TIMELINE
[February 25, 2026, 6:31 am Mountain Standard Time (MST)] EPNG issued a system-wide SOC warning for a Pack condition (Critical Notice No. 627642).
[February 26, 2026, 6:14 am MST] EPNG declared a system-wide SOC for a Pack condition effective Gas Day February 26, 2026, with the imbalance threshold set at 5% (Critical Notice No. 627651).
[February 27, 2026, 8:21 am MST] EPNG issued a system-wide SOC update (Critical Notice No. 627665).
[February 28, 2026, 6:37 am MST] EPNG lifted the subject system-wide SOC effective Gas Day February 28, 2026 (Critical Notice No. 627673).
APPLICABLE OPERATING CONDITIONS
Wednesday, February 25, 2026
- EPNG system linepack started the Gas Day at 8,285 MMcf, which was an increase of 234 MMcf compared to the previous Gas Day.
- At 6:31 am MST, EPNG issued a system-wide SOC warning for a Pack condition (Notice No. 627642). The EPNG system was experiencing a high linepack condition due to actual deliveries below scheduled quantities and receipts from supply basins in excess of scheduled deliveries.
- Washington Ranch was on injection, averaging 91 MMcf.
Thursday, February 26, 2026
- EPNG system linepack started the Gas Day at 8,296 MMcf, which was an increase of 11 MMcf compared to the previous Gas Day.
- At 6:14 am MST, EPNG declared a system-wide SOC for a Pack condition (Notice No. 627651) effective Gas Day February 26, 2026. The EPNG system was experiencing a high linepack condition with system linepack above 8,315 MMcf due to receipts in excess of scheduled quantities and deliveries below scheduled quantities.
- Washington Ranch was on injection, averaging 101 MMcf.
Friday, February 27, 2026
- EPNG system linepack started the Gas Day at 8,203 MMcf, which was a decrease of 93 MMcf compared to the previous Gas Day.
- At 8:21 am MST, EPNG issued a system-wide SOC update (Notice No. 627665), stating that the SOC would remain in effect for Gas Day February 27, 2026. EPNG requested that shippers and operators align scheduled volumes with actual deliveries to maintain system integrity.
- Washington Ranch was on injection, averaging 104 MMcf.
Saturday, February 28, 2026
- EPNG system linepack started the Gas Day at 7,983 MMcf, which was a decrease of 220 MMcf compared to the previous Gas Day.
- At 6:37 am MST, EPNG lifted the system-wide SOC for Pack condition (Notice No. 627673) effective Gas Day February 28, 2026. Customer response was sufficient to decrease EPNG's linepack to acceptable levels.
ACTIONS TAKEN BY EPNG AND SHIPPERS
The following actions were taken:
1. EPNG issued a system-wide SOC warning for a Pack condition on February 25, 2026, at 6:31 am MST.
2. EPNG declared a system-wide SOC for a Pack condition on February 26, 2026, at 6:14 am MST. The system-wide SOC was in effect for Gas Days February 26-27, 2026.
3. EPNG issued a system-wide SOC update on February 27, 2026, at 8:21 am MST.
4. After EPNG declared the system-wide SOC, customers took corrective actions to align their scheduled supplies with their actual deliveries.
