SOC Follow-Up Report – System-wide Pack Condition
DURATION OF EVENT
A system-wide Strained Operating Condition (“SOC”) for a Pack condition was declared by EPNG as follows:
Effective: Gas Days December 19 through December 22, 2025
Imbalance Threshold: 5%
AFFECTED AREA(S)/LOCATION(S)
All shippers system-wide were subject to the requirements of the SOC declaration.
TIMELINE
[December 19, 2025, 6:43 am Mountain Standard Time (MST)] EPNG declared a system-wide SOC for a Pack condition effective Gas Day December 19, 2025, with the imbalance threshold set at 5% (Critical Notice No. 627055).
[December 20, 2025, 8:23 am MST] EPNG issued SOC Update #1 stating that the system-wide SOC for a Pack would remain in effect for gas Day December 20, 2025, (Critical Notice No. 627064).
[December 21, 2025, 8:08 am MST] EPNG issued SOC Update #2 stating that the system-wide SOC for a Pack would remain in effect for gas Day December 21, 2025, (Critical Notice No. 627074).
[December 22, 2025, 8:10 am MST] EPNG issued SOC Update #3 stating that the system-wide SOC for a Pack would remain in effect for gas Day December 22, 2025, (Critical Notice No. 627082).
[December 23, 2025, 6:21 am MST] EPNG lifted the subject system-wide SOC effective Gas Day December 23, 2025 (Critical Notice No. 627088).
APPLICABLE OPERATING CONDITIONS
Friday, December 19, 2025
- EPNG system linepack started the Gas Day at 8,329 MMcf, which was an increase of 119 MMcf compared to the previous Gas Day.
- At 6:43 am MST, EPNG declared a system-wide SOC for a Pack condition (Notice No. 627055) effective Gas Day December 19, 2025. The EPNG system was experiencing a high linepack condition with system linepack at 8,340 MMcf due to receipts in excess of scheduled quantities and deliveries below scheduled quantities.
- Washington Ranch was on injection, averaging 88 MMcf.
Saturday, December 20, 2025
- EPNG system linepack started the Gas Day at 8,248 MMcf, which was a decrease of 80 MMcf compared to the previous Gas Day.
- At 8:23 am MST, EPNG issued SOC Update #1 stating that the SOC for a Pack condition would remain in effect for Gas Day December 20, 2025 (Notice No. 627064).
- Washington Ranch was on injection, averaging 99 MMcf.
Sunday, December 21, 2025
- EPNG system linepack started the Gas Day at 8,207 MMcf, which was a decrease of 42 MMcf compared to the previous Gas Day.
- At 8:08 am MST, EPNG issued SOC Update #2 stating that the SOC for a Pack condition would remain in effect for Gas Day December 21, 2025 (Notice No. 627074).
- Washington Ranch was on injection, averaging 100 MMcf.
Monday, December 22, 2025
- EPNG system linepack started the Gas Day at 8,135 MMcf, which was a decrease of 72 MMcf compared to the previous Gas Day.
- At 8:10 am MST, EPNG issued SOC Update #3 stating that the SOC for a Pack condition would remain in effect for Gas Day December 22, 2025 (Notice No. 627082).
- Washington Ranch was on injection, averaging 85 MMcf.
Tuesday, December 23, 2025
- EPNG system linepack started the Gas Day at 7,986 MMcf, which was a decrease of 148 MMcf compared to the previous Gas Day.
- At 6:21 am MST, EPNG lifted the system-wide SOC for Pack condition (Notice No. 627088) effective Gas Day December 23, 2025. Customer response was sufficient to decrease EPNG's linepack to acceptable levels.
- Washington Ranch was on injection, averaging 87 MMcf.
ACTIONS TAKEN BY EPNG AND SHIPPERS
The following actions were taken:
1. EPNG declared a system-wide SOC for a Pack condition on December 19, 2025, at 6:43 am MST. The system-wide SOC was in effect for Gas Days December 19 through 22, 2025.
2. After EPNG declared the system-wide SOC, customers took corrective actions to align their scheduled supplies with their actual deliveries.
