Force Majeure Update #9 – Segment 580
As set forth in Critical Notice 700979, and previous postings, Southern Natural Gas Company, L.L.C. (“SNG”) experienced a release of natural gas and damage to its 20” Wrens-Savannah 2nd Loop Line near Millen, GA on October 8, 2016. As stated in Notice 700811 on January 25, 2017, SNG is performing hydrostatic tests on segments encompassing the entire 20” Wrens-Savannah 2nd Loop Line in order to identify and make those repairs needed to be able to return the line to full pressure and capacity in a safe manner. Until all such work is complete, operationally available capacity through Segment 580 will remain reduced to a capacity of approximately 145,000 Dth/day. SNG is working diligently with multiple crews to return this line to full service as soon as possible.
Update #9: SNG has made significant progress on the initial portion of the line contemplated by Notice 700592 posted on November 14, 2016. SNG also has developed, and is implementing, its work schedule with multiple crews for the remaining sections of the line. Based on the best information available, SNG estimates that the outage will continue into July 2017. SNG will have more information available by its next update to customers on May 24, 2017.
As set forth in Critical Notice 700504, this unplanned outage constitutes an event of Force Majeure under Section 8.3 of the General Terms and Conditions of SNG's FERC Gas Tariff until further notice.
We will continue to update you on the progress of the work. The next update will be posted by May 24, 2017. If you have any questions regarding this notice, please contact your Account Manager or Scheduling Representative.
