Force Majeure – Line 2000 – Update # [17]
El Paso Natural Gas Company, L.L.C. ("EPNG") is providing this update to the Force Majeure notice originally posted August 15, 2021 (reference Critical Notice No. 612627), associated with the pipeline failure on Line 2000 near the town of Coolidge, Arizona.
EPNG received approval from PHMSA to restart the previously isolated segment of Line 2000 between MLV 38 and 39 where the incident occurred. Under the order issued by PHMSA, the restart of this segment is still subject to a pressure restriction and therefore the line remains out of service from Black River compressor station to the California border. EPNG continues its integrity work on the pipeline. Once this work is completed, EPNG will seek approval from PHMSA to return the pipeline to the previous operating pressure. EPNG does not expect to be in a position to increase the operating pressure before the end of this year and will update this posting when it receives approval from PHMSA to lift the pressure restriction and return the line to service. Any specific questions related to operationally available capacity or unsubscribed capacity along this path should be directed to your marketing representative.
This incident constitutes an event of force majeure under EPNG's FERC Gas Tariff, General Terms and Conditions, Section 11.3.
