October 1 Fuel Retention Rate Changes On August 22, 2018, Southern Natural Gas Company, L.L.C. (“SNG”) filed in FERC Docket No. RP18-1072 to revise its transportation fuel rates to be effective for the Winter Period of October 1, 2018-March 31, 2019. 1. Transportation Fuel Retention
Transportation fuel is retained on receipts based on the zone of delivery for the gas except for those receipt to delivery combinations that qualify for intrazone fuel or backhaul fuel. The approved transportation fuel retention percentages are as follows effective October 1, 2018 – March 31, 2019
Delivery Zone Fuel Retention Percentages
Zone 0 1.78%
Zone 1 1.78%
Zone 2 2.72%
Zone 3 3.31%
Intrazone (1-1, 2-2, 3-3) 0.57%
Backhaul 0.16%
Storage fuel is collected on net Dths withdrawn and injected each day. The current storage fuel retention percentage of 0.75% did not change.
SNG will apply these new fuel retention percentages to all nominations commencing with the Timely Cycle for Gas Day October 1, 2018.
All Shippers will need to renominate their business for October 1, 2018 to ensure that the correct fuel is applied. To do this, you will need to retrigger your Transportation line items and DART will recalculate the updated fuel percentage. Also, if you update your own internal tools with these fuel percentages, the nomination upload template can be used to facilitate this change.
