Reduction of Backhaul (Westbound) Operating Capacity on Segment 102
Colorado Interstate Gas Company, L.L.C. (CIG) continues to observe shifting gas supply and market conditions from formerly prolific western supplies seeking eastbound markets, to decreasing western supplies driven to westbound markets. At the same time, market demand on the eastern end of CIG's system is being increasingly met by supplies from the expanding Denver-Julesburg “DJ” Basin. Consequently, the historically northern flow on CIG's Segment 124, from the Greasewood compressor station to the CO/WY state line, has now shifted to a net southbound flow. This continued shift in supply and market has dramatically changed CIG's operating conditions necessitating CIG to reevaluate its backhaul capacities west of Wamsutter to ensure reliability of service.
Effective Timely Cycle for Tuesday, Gas Day September 1, 2015, CIG will reduce the backhaul Operating Capacity on segment 102 Emerald Springs to Blue Forest from 125 MDth/day to align with that segment's backhaul Design Capacity of 66 MDth/day. Capacity in the forward haul (Eastbound) direction of segment 102 is not affected and will remain at 254 MDth/day.
CIG will continue to evaluate operating conditions driven by market shifts on its system, and will make the capacity changes necessary to ensure reliability of service.
